Corstorphine PTA Christmas Fair

posted 24 Oct 2016, 13:34 by PTA Admin   [ updated 24 Oct 2016, 13:36 ]

Saturday 26th November 2016

10am – 12.30pm

It’s hard to believe but we’re racing towards Christmas and our biggest fundraising event of the year, the Christmas Fair!! Last year, the Christmas Fair raised nearly £5,000 for our school and our children. It’s a fantastic opportunity to buy some beautiful Christmas gifts, try your luck in the raffle, or indulge in cake and coffee.

Santa will be joining us again this year and will be waiting in his grotto to speak to the children and give them a little Christmas gift !!  The elves are operating a booking system, so please buy your tickets as you enter the Fair. You’ll be allocated a time slot to visit Santa and tell him how good you’ve been this year!   But please get there early as Santa is always a sell-out.

We will have a variety of amazing stalls with great Christmas products for all ages

  • Carol Harris - Pocket Money Toys
  • Louise Henderson - Chutneys and Jams
  • Phoenix Cards and Gift Wrap
  • CalEli Gifts - Xmas hanging decorations
  • Senga Slater - small Xmas gifts, hampers, glitter glasses, Xmas stockings
  • Claire McKenzie - shopping bags with a Scottish theme...priced between £5 and £10
  • HandmadebyDot - brooches, hand made cards, etc
  • Donna Adam - peg bags, hand made soaps, bath bombs
  • Corstorphine Trust - books, pens, etc
There will be something for everyone with PTA stalls selling second-hand toys, scrumptious home-baking, books, crafts, nail-painting and of course a chance to relax in the PTA café.  We will be running a fantastic tombola for you to try your luck as well has the Jingle bucket (giving you a change to win some hard cash).

Unique gifts - As in previous years, we will be selling bespoke luxury Christmas Puddings (Traditional Christmas Puddings, Sticky Toffee Puddings & Chocolate Sponge Puddings). They always go quickly, so get there early.  If you haven't bought (or haven't seen) the Corstorphine Primary School Recipe Book now is your chance.  These beautiful books are stuffed full of easy recipes (submitted and compiled by the pupils themselves) and are a perfect gift for family and friends. They could also help turn your children into budding chefs.   to purchase this unique gifts!

Remember to take the opportunity to buy your School Calendar, buy a subscription to the “Lantern” newsletter and to stop buy the School's Fair Trade stand.

Christmas Raffle - The list of prizes has yet to be published but there is sure to be something to tempt even the most discerning ticket holder.  Tickets are always sent out by "Pupil Post" so keep an eye out in school bags in the first week of November.    Please sell tickets to family and friends, return the money and stubs to the school office before 21st November.  The draw will take place during the Christmas Fair…best of luck to everyone!

Christmas Bauble competition - back by popular demand!
The rules are:

 Buy a Bauble - details will be in the forthcoming newsletter

 Decorate it (get creative with the glue and glitter!)

Put your name and class on a label attached to the Bauble

Return your creations to school by Thursday 24th November.

The Baubles will be judged on the Friday before the Fair and the winner from each class will be awarded precious House Points. All the baubles will be on display during the fair for that extra special Christmas theme.

P1 (and New) Parent's Coffee Morning Friday 26th August

posted 24 Aug 2016, 13:06 by PTA Admin   [ updated 24 Aug 2016, 13:07 ]

OK so it's not quite Starbuck's - but if you fancy a coffee in a relaxed environment just before you pick up your hyped-up off-spring, this is the place to be.  You can't possibly be late for pick-up!  The PTA will be serving tea, coffee and biscuits  in the Lantern wing from 10.30am -12 noon.  Its a great opportunity to come and meet other parents before pick-up, renew nursery acquaintances and share anecdotes about starting a new school. Why not make an arrangement with other parents to meet here instead of standing out side in the wind, rain, or sunshine.  If you have questions about the school or want to know how you can support the school here's the place to find out. You don't HAVE to be new to the school either.. If you're a P1 parent for a second time or more your more than welcome..
